The five-minute reset that holds a hospitality shift together

4 min read

Hospitality is where my own career began, so I know what a Friday service feels like at 7pm versus 10pm. The food does not get worse. The team does not stop caring. What changes is the nervous system, and with it, tone of voice, patience and pace.

Inside our hospitality sessions, Jennifer works with managers and teams on small resets that fit a real shift. The goal is simple: protect the standard from 6pm through to close, without asking your team to find an extra hour they do not have.

Why short resets matter more than long breaks

Short, frequent resets keep the body out of full fight-or-flight. Once a team tips over the edge, recovery takes the rest of the shift. The work is not about adding more breaks. It is about using the small windows you already have differently.

How we build it into your team

Jennifer shapes sessions around your roster, your venue and the parts of service where pressure peaks. That might be a short on-site session before a busy season, a wellbeing day for the wider team, or a more bespoke programme for managers and supervisors. Have a look at The Reset Method for how the work is structured.

Sessions can be delivered before a busy season starts or during quieter periods between services.
