What is The Reset Method, and who is it actually for?

4 min read

People ask me what The Reset Method actually is, usually halfway through a phone call. The shortest answer: it is a practical way to recognise pressure early, regulate in the moment, and return to clearer thinking. It is not a talk, it is not a course, and it is not a wellbeing app.

Where it came from

I spent more than 25 years across hospitality, management and wellbeing, including over five years working as an Activities Coordinator in residential care. The Reset Method grew out of those rooms, not a classroom. Read more on the about page if you want the full background.

Who it is for

  • Workplaces where managers and teams are carrying sustained pressure.
  • Schools, particularly Transition Year and exam years.
  • Nursing homes where staff need resets and residents benefit from a sensory session.
  • Hospitality teams holding standards across long shifts and changing rosters.

What people actually take away

  1. A way to spot pressure early

In themselves and in the people around them, before it shows up as a missed deadline, a difficult conversation or a sick day.

  2. Two or three techniques they will use

Short, practical, repeatable. The bar is whether it gets used on a Tuesday afternoon, not whether it sounds impressive in a brochure.

  3. A shared language

Teams that share a language for pressure intervene weeks earlier than teams that do not.
